CLASSES

HOW IT WORKS AT BLUE CLOUD DANCE

KIDS: The classes run for a full school term.

ADULTS: I advertise BLOCKS of dance classes to the community and if I have enough dancers enrol in the block then the classes go ahead!

BLOCK PRICES: Block prices are calculated at the discounted rate of $22 per class and require a minimum of 4 dancers to go ahead. Payment for the full block is required before the block begins.

CASUAL PRICES: When a block goes ahead other dancers are welcome to join casually at $25 per class. Payment is required either before or within 24 hours of the lesson.

ADULT BALLET BASICS

Monday 7.15-8.15pm &

Friday 1.30-2.30pm

These classes are perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the form of ballet in a relaxed fun environment! They are designed for beginners or for those who used to dance when they were younger.In the classes we gently explore and build on your ballet technique while enjoying classical music!

ADULT CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Monday 6.15-7.15pm or Friday 12.30-1.30pm

These classes are suitable for beginner and experienced dancers. We explore contemporary technique with a focus on the mechanics of movement which includes using the weight of the body of build momentum and articulating the spine.The aim is always to have a fun time dancing. In some blocks focus on learning choreography,"Dance Jog" - a class which includes gentle low impact cardio work-out. This class is often accompanied by live music!

For the first block of 2025 the focus will be on stretching in motion.

KIDS CONTEMPORARY

Intermediate Friday 3.15-4.15pm

Junior Friday 4.15-5pm

These classes are designed to build strength, coordination, physical awareness and a love of moving in your kids. I mix technique with playful tasks so the kids have fun. Each term we work on a new dance that parents can come and watch at the end of the term. For the Intermediate class I meet the kids from Muritai School and walk them to the Yacht Club.
